Congregations are more multilingual than ever, but live interpretation is hard to staff and expensive to equip. ChurchLingual turns one phone or computer near the pulpit into live captions and spoken translation that anyone can follow on their own phone — no headsets to hand out, no app for visitors to install, no booth to build.
One person broadcasts; everyone else simply scans a QR code and reads or listens in the language they choose. It's designed to be set up by a volunteer in minutes and to just work, week after week.
Along the way it became more than translation: the same broadcast gives hard-of-hearing members the speaker's voice in their own earbuds, puts captions on a church's livestream and on a TV at the front of the room, and lets two people who don't share a language simply sit and talk. One phone at the pulpit, and everyone in the building can follow.
Simple enough for any volunteer; effortless for every visitor — whatever language they speak, and however well they hear.
